Stand Your Ground

In recent days, I observed people taking advantage of others. It really makes me think. How dare they. How can you treat someone that you love with such disrespect?

By definition: Someone that takes advantage of situations or people to get what they want. They put material and superficial things above people, and their wants over the needs of others.

"an opportunist is a dangerous person and should NEVER be trusted"

Don't let people take advantage of you. You can tell them no. Its okay to say no. You do not have to give them a reason why you cannot help them, they need to respect your decision.
If they continue to pressure you, confront them.
Tell them you feel used, and disrespected.
Stay calm and let them know you will not be taken advantage of any longer. They will resist you, stand your ground.
Finally if you are unable to get through to them, it may be time to cut all ties with them until they can respect you.

Some people are takers, and if you are not giving the problem will solve itself. You do not have to be mean to get people to stop taking advantage of you, just stay calm and be firm.
Neither you nor I deserve to be taken advantage of.

I encourage you to stand your ground.

New at this...

I have never blogged before... it is kind of an interesting thing to do. I never considered it actually, until I read a blog my high school friend made.. She is amazing! Check her out @ http://www.juliemissjuicy.com/ She inspires me.

Today I have been thinking a lot about taking things for granted... You never realize that the little things are what is most important. I have learned a lot about this whole not taking things for granted because of my grandma lately... She is not doing well health wise, and each day that I do get to spend with her is cherished. When she passes away i know it is going to be one of the biggest struggles I have ever had to face. She had taught me so much. We never take the time to appreciate the small things in life like being able take a deep breath, or walking around the block until you are not able to do so. I would like to live my life with no regrets, and that can be hard. We always think what if... what if i did this instead of that, or what if i hadn't done anything... I just wanted to remind everyone to appreciate the small things in life, call someone you haven't talked to in a while and make their day.
